The highest mountain peak of Odisha. Deomali is 1,800 metres high, nestling in the lap of the Eastern Ghats. It is an ideal spot for aero gliding and trekking expeditions. It is located at about 95km from Anija Resort and it takes about 2 hrs 45 min to reach. And once you’re at the top, you’ll forget the rest of the world around you – because Deomali is breathtaking! Be there to feel the rejuvenating feeling.
Jimidipeta waterfalls is located around 12 km from Anija Resort. People can visit the perenial waterfalls at any time of the year irrespective of season. The waterfall is easily accessible. The serene location of the waterfall serves as a secluded getaway for those who wish to feel invigorated and beat the stresses of daily life. During monsoons, the gushing flow of the water paints a maginificent picture with the clouds in the background enveloping the hills.
The Jhanjhavathi Rubber Dam is located at Rajyalakshmipuram village in a northern coastal district of Andhra Pradesh at Vizianagaram. It is India’s first Rubber Dam constructed across Jhanjhavathi River in Parvathipuram. Jhanjhavathi is a main tributary of Nagavali River. Both the rivers originate in the state of Odisha. It is about 18km from Anija Resort and takes about 30 minutes to reach.
The reservoir has a storage capacity of 2.51 TMC and irrigates about 1.80 lakh acres in the districts of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam. It is about 15 km downstream from Anija resort and motorable only during the dry months. Half day trips will be organized by the resort subject to road conditions.
The waterfall is tucked away in the scenic borders of Andhra – Odisha. Water cascading down from a cliff offers a breathtaking view for people. A large number of tourists come here in the winter for picnics at the Durgapadu Falls. It is one of the most famous tourist attractions here. It is about 37 km from the resort. Day trip will be organized by the resort.
Taptapani is famous for its hot sulfur water spring, The hot water from the natural spring of Taptapani is attributed with medicinal properties. One can bathe in the pond created next to the hot spring. There is an old belief among the local community that bathing here cures you of any permanent illness. This is the only hot spring in Southern India amongst the 12 hot springs of the country.
The Padmasambhava Mahavihara Monastery, also known as Thupten Mindolling Monastery located at Jeerango, Gajapati District. Thupten Mindolling Monastery is Eastern India's largest Buddhist monastery. Inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in January 2010, it follows the Atanpuri architectural style of Nalanda. Standing 70 feet tall with five stories, it boasts a 23-foot Buddha statue, a 17-foot Buddha Padmasambhava, and a charming waterfall on its 10-acre land. The resort offers a day trip, covering a distance of 146 km, inclusive of food and beverages.
Religious Tourism
Chatikona is situated at a distance of about 72 km from Anija Resort. The temple of Lord Shiva (Pataleswar) with a beautiful waterfall besides it is a picnic spot and a place of tourist attraction. The Chatikona Falls enhance the scenic beauty of the place. Numerous waterfalls and streams flow from the hills of Niyamgiri. The weekly Wednesday market at Chatikona is also worth seeing.
It is located at Bissam Cuttack village of Rayagada district and is a place of tourist interest. It is the only shrine of Devi Maa Markama in the state of Odisha. The legend says that the Devi is being worshiped for centuries. It is about 70 km from Anija resorts and takes about 1 hr 45 min to reach.
Majhighariani Temple is a shrine to the goddess Majhighariani in Rayagada . It is located at a distance of around 24 km from our resort. Visitors come to the shrine, especially on Wednesdays and Fridays and for Dussehra in October and Chaitra Parva in March–April.
Devagiri hill is situated at distance of 70 km from our resorts and takes about 1 hr 45 min to reach. There are seven natural holy steps in scaling order placed at a distance of 20-30 feet apart. On the fouth step Goddess Mahalaxmi has been enshrined. There is also a cave that appears like low jaws. Lord shiva is worshipped in a cave on this Devagiri Hill.
